Ascarate Park is the largest public-use recreational park in El Paso County with picnicking, fishing, swimming, sports fields and a 280 acre golf course. Be sure to check out the El Paso Zoo and the Old El Paso County Jail Museum. Explore the many nearby stops just over the border in New Mexico, like Whiite Sands, Roswell and Truth or Consequences. Pass through the Lincoln National Forest on your way to the Mescalero Reservation for a little gambling, or Ski Apache to get in some runs.

This area of El Paso is in the Chihuahuan Desert of extreme western Texas, along the Rio Grande River. It adjoins both the state of New Mexico and the country of Mexico. Live Oaks and Mondell Pine trees thrive in this desert environment, and honey mesquite and cottonwood are native to the area. The rustic terrain of the area is exactly what you’ll find as you travel down the dirt road and plan access to your new property.
