Fort Hancock started as a military camp in the late 1800’s, named after General Winfield Scott.
Hudspeth County is named for Claude Benton Hudspeth, a state senator and United States Representative from El Paso. The area was a pass through as explorers looked for routes between Texas and California Hudspeth County was formed in 1917 from El Paso County, Texas.

The area is an outdoorsman (or woman’s) paradise. You can explore all of the beauty and natural wonders that the beautiful state of Texas has to offer. Visit Hueco Tanks State Park and Guadalupe Mountains National Park for hiking, rock climbing, bouldering, or even bird watching. Take an extended day trip and head over state lines to New Mexico and explore Carlsbad Caverns. You can even create your own adventures right on your property and take an all terrain vehicle out to play.

Take in the picturesque peaks of Sierra Blanca or head east to explore all that the state of Texas has to offer. Big city destinations include San Antonio, Fort Worth, Houston, and Dallas. You can even cross a footbridge into Mexico and see the many sights that are south of the border including the authentic Mexican cuisine.

There are currently no building restrictions in Hudspeth County so you can camp or bring your RV, you just need to dispose of sewage properly and legally. Your 20 acres can be accessed via a dirt road on the southern portion of the lot. The rest is up to you!
