Enjoy scenic canyons and mountains throughout the area’s mountain trails. Guadalupe Mountains National Park, located in Culberson County, contains Texas’ highest mountain, Guadalupe Peak, at 8750 feet. El Capitan is the “twin peak” at 8085 feet. Experience Big Bend National Park or take a guided driving and hiking tour of the area. 

The deer and other wildlife roam nearby on this almost 6 acres of peaceful country land, close to the Mexican border. Get in on the county “Big Buck” tournament every June or take advantage of excellent archery and gun mule deer hunting in the Sierra Diablo Wildlife Management Area. It’s also a sanctuary for the last remaining desert bighorn sheep in Texas.

Van Horn is the largest town in the county and has plenty of great restaurants, local attractions and lots of history to explore. Hit up the Clark Hotel museum, one of the oldest surviving buildings in Van Horn, or take a quick day trip to historic Fort Leaton or Fort Davis.The area was named after David B. Culberson, a lawyer and Confederate soldier in the American Civil War, who was also a Democratic U.S. Representative from Texas and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

Explore your property in an ATV or dirt bike. Livestock is allowed and the maintenance is easy with a flat property dotted with mesquite and creosote shrubs. There are no zoning restrictions and no time limit to build. You can camp or RV for up to 30 days, and longer with a permit. While no power line access is nearby, there is strong 4G service, so you can stay connected!
