Hudspeth County is named for Claude Benton Hudspeth, who was a state senator and United States Representative from El Paso. As explorers looked for new routes from Texas to California in the late 1800’s, what is now known as Hudspeth County was discovered as a place for travelers to pass through.

There are no building restrictions in Hudspeth County, (and no zoning restrictions unless you are in Dell City) so come on down and build whatever your heart desires. You can camp or put an RV on your property for as long as you want as long as you have a way to haul out your waste.
