Additionally silver and lead was mined on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande River but shipped north along with candelilla wax made in factories at Glenn Spring and Mariscal. Terlingua’s other claim to fame? The annual Terlingua Chili Cookoffs. Trust us you don’t want to miss it. 

The only remnants of the mining days are a ghost town of the Howard Perry-owned Chisos Mining Company and several nearby closed mines including the California Hill, the Rainbow, the 248, and the Study Butte mines. Today people come to the area to visit Big Bend National Park, which is right near the property. You can go rafting and canoeing on the Rio Grande, or mountain biking, camping, hiking, and motorcycling in the area.  

Due to the mild climate of this part of Texas, the area has a large amount of sunshine year round. So your new camp can be utilized all year, whether you want for your outdoor adventures. Nearby Alpine has a municipal airport and you can plan a bigger trip out of Midland International Airport too. 

Your 10 acres are part of a recreational property owners association and are accessible by a dirt road on the Eastern portion of the lot. POA fees are due yearly and past due fees must be paid as part of this land purchase. There are no sewer, water, or gas lines in Terlingua Ranch.
