Get a day pass to Dunn Creek State Park and for just a few dollars you can enjoy 6,200 acres of land that protects many endangered and threatened animal species. Better yet, get a yearly Florida State Park pass to enjoy any Florida state parks year round. Among the many activities you can participate in, you can paddle a kayak along 6 mile Deep Creek, which connects the St. Johns River to nearby Crescent Lake. There are trails for hiking, biking and even horseback riding.

With the proximity to St. Johns River, you’ll be catching largemouth bass, crappie, bluegills, catfish and more on a regular basis. Not into fishing? No problem, take a scenic riverboat tour of the area instead or day trip to DeLeon Springs to visit Volusia Speedway Park or make your own pancakes at the SugarMill restaurant (housed in a historic replica mill building).
